New York Times: Linked Open Data

NYT has created and compiled innumerable Subject Headings (i.e., tags) for People, Organizations, Locations, etc. over the past century and more. See specifically Linked Open Data. It’s”controlled vocabulary” for the field of journalism. Read more about linked data here. It definitely plays a role in the evolving Semantic Web. NYT, by the way, uses 30,000 of these tags on its Topics page.
